Conventional hoods required expensive accessories such as steel cables and tanks, were difficult to clean and left fire-resistant fluid in the event of a fire, practically losing equipment.
“Now I can finally order an extractor without all kinds of accessories. That saves costs. It's easy to clean and you can work cleaner. This system produces a special environmentally friendly liquid that forms a head when in contact with grease. The rapid flame extinguishment limits damage and prevents re-ignition. That also has advantages in terms of insurance.”
Nobel Fire Systems

The Nobel Fire Systems K-Series is a professional and fully automatic kitchen fire suppression system for professional catering kitchens and large-scale kitchens. The system protects extractor hoods, cooking ranges, cooking appliances, and grease ducts from kitchen fires. The Nobel K-Series suppression system is the only fully electronically monitored kitchen fire suppression system on the market without mechanically moving parts. The system is used throughout Europe and offers effective fire protection and prevention under demanding conditions, with minimal consequential damage. Yaena Solutions B.V. in Berkel en Rodenrijs is the exclusive supplier and installer of the Nobel Fire Systems K-Series in the Netherlands.
The Nobel K-Series kitchen fire suppression system consists of five interconnected components that together form a complete fire protection solution. First, the gas generator, derived from military technology, which is identical to the technology used in airbags and seatbelt tensioners. Upon activation, this instantly generates the correct operating pressure without mechanical components. Second, fire detection via ultra-fast thermal probes or a linear heat sensor, which recognize temperature fluctuations long before a fire fully develops. Third, the intelligent control panel that monitors up to four suppression units and records all fire and fault messages via a clear LED display with acoustic support. Fourth, the Nobel Liquid K extinguishing fluid, based on organic potassium salts, which reacts with burning fat to form a soap-like foam layer that prevents re-ignition. Fifth, the six stainless steel nozzles that produce a fine liquid mist, combating fire on multiple fronts simultaneously.
The Nobel K-Series suppression system is fundamentally different from traditional mechanical suppression systems, such as the widely used Ansul R102 system. The biggest difference is that the Nobel system is fully electronic and contains no mechanically moving parts. Traditional mechanical systems operate with spring-loaded plungers, fusible links, cables, and pulleys that can wear out, jam, or activate incorrectly. The Nobel system always detects faults immediately via visual and acoustic alerts. With mechanical systems, faults can go completely unnoticed until the next maintenance interval, causing the system to fail when it matters most. Furthermore, the Nobel system installs in one day versus two days for a comparable mechanical system, and requires only one maintenance service per year versus twice a year for mechanical systems.
The largest and most demanding hospitality organizations worldwide choose the Nobel Fire Systems kitchen fire suppression system. In the Netherlands, these include HMS Host and Avolta at Schiphol Airport, KFC via Collins Foods Group, McDonald's, Burger King, Febo, Marriott, Corinthia Hotels, and Mall of the Netherlands. Internationally, organizations such as Spirit Group, Nando's, Jamie Oliver, and Gordon Ramsay opt for Nobel Fire Systems. Furthermore, the British insurance group Allianz has designated Nobel Fire Systems as a Preferred Systems Provider, meaning that Allianz actively recommends Nobel as the optimal fire prevention solution for the hospitality industry.
The Nobel K-Series kitchen fire suppression system boasts an extensive package of international certifications and approvals. The system is certified to LPS 1223, ISO 15371:2000 and 2009, and is CE approved. Additionally, it holds approvals from ABS, Lloyd's, DNV, RINA, KR, BV, GL, and MCA. The system is used by the Royal Navies of the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as the German Navy. Nobel Liquid K extinguishing fluid has an ozone depleting potential of zero and a global warming potential of zero, making the system completely environmentally friendly.
Yes. The Nobel K-Series kitchen fire suppression system can be directly integrated into new extractor hoods, but can also be retrofitted into existing kitchen configurations by Yaena Solutions' own installation teams. Thanks to its compact technology and fully electric design without mechanical components, the system is flexible to install. The suppression unit does not need to be directly next to the extractor hood. The extinguishing agent containers can be installed high in the kitchen or even completely out of sight. Installation of a complete Nobel system is typically completed within one day.
The Nobel K-Series kitchen fire suppression system provides fire protection for cooking appliances including fryers, grills, and woks, extraction hoods and grease filters, the entrance to the grease duct, and extensive duct protection up to roof level. This is a significant advantage over traditional mechanical suppression systems, which do not offer duct protection up to roof level. Yaena Solutions conducts a comprehensive risk analysis for each location to ensure the system is optimally tailored to the specific kitchen configuration and type of food preparation equipment.
The Nobel NSF-4 control panel monitors up to four suppression units simultaneously and automatically records all fire and fault messages via a clear LED display with acoustic support. The panel is EN54 certified and features a guaranteed emergency power supply of at least 72 hours. The control panel does not need to be placed in the kitchen itself but can also be installed in a manager's office. Its functionality is fully programmable on-site, allowing the system to be temporarily deactivated, for example, during extensive cleaning work to prevent unwanted activation. Through volt-free contacts, the panel can be linked to a building management system, central fire alarm system, and emergency stop buttons for gas and electricity.
The Nobel K-Series kitchen fire suppression system requires only one maintenance service per year. This is half of what traditional mechanical suppression systems require, which need maintenance twice a year. For hospitality chains with multiple locations, this results in significant cost savings. Yaena Solutions provides annual maintenance for all installed systems, making it the sole point of contact for clients for both installation and maintenance.
Yes. The Nobel K-Series kitchen fire suppression system can be effectively combined with the RSL Fire aerosol suppression system for additional fire protection of control cabinets and lithium-ion battery containers in or near the kitchen. Nobel protects the kitchen itself, while RSL Fire protects the technical installations. Together, Yaena Solutions thus offers complete fire protection for the entire location from a single point of contact.
